NEW CLIENTS

Welcome to Tranquillity. We're so pleased you're thinking of joining us, and we want your first visit to feel as relaxed and reassuring as possible. Here's everything you need to know before you arrive.

Your first appointment

A woman with blonde hair smiling at a reception desk in a salon or beauty shop. Behind her, there are mirrors and clients getting services, with hairdressers attending to them. The reception desk has a computer, printed signs, and bottles of hair products.

From the moment you walk through the door, you'll be warmly welcomed and made to feel completely at home. We'll offer you a drink from our complimentary menu, get you comfortable, and take the time to talk through your hair before we begin.

Your first appointment is all about getting to know you, understanding your hair and your lifestyle, and making sure we're completely clear on the look you're after. Whether you know exactly what you want or you'd like our expert guidance, you're in safe, experienced hands.

To get the very best from your visit, do bring along any photos of looks you love, and have any questions ready to ask. We're here to help you solve any hair concerns you have, and the more we know, the better we can tailor everything to you.

Some things to know

Consultations

Every new client begins with a consultation. It's the foundation of everything we do and the best way to ensure you leave delighted with your hair.

During your consultation, your stylist will discuss your hair history, your everyday routine, how much time you like to spend styling at home, and the result you're hoping to achieve. It's also your chance to ask any questions.

Colour & Technical Consultations

For any colour or technical service, we always carry out your consultation in advance of booking the appointment. There's a good reason for this. It allows us to see your hair properly, discuss exactly what you'd like to achieve, and make sure we book out the right amount of time to create it. It also gives us the opportunity to carry out any skin test that may be needed ahead of your visit.

Taking this step first means no surprises on the day, and the very best chance of achieving the look you're hoping for.

Cutting Consultations

Every new client booking automatically has extra time allocated, so there's always plenty of time to talk through your hair, your concerns and exactly what you're looking for before we begin. Your appointment is tailored to you from the very start.

If you'd like a consultation before your appointment, we're always happy to arrange one. Some clients prefer to chat things through in advance, especially if they're considering a bigger change.

Skin tests

For anyone having a colour service with us for the first time, a skin test is required before your appointment. This is a simple, quick and essential step to make sure the products we use are safe for you.

You'll also need a skin test if you haven't had a colour service in the last six months, or if you've become pregnant since your last visit. Skin tests must be carried out at least 48 hours before your colour appointment, in line with manufacturer guidelines. If you're due one, please get in touch to arrange it in good time.

Appointment lengths

Appointment times vary depending on the service. As a rough guide:

• A cut and finish typically takes around 45 to 60 minutes • Colour services can take anywhere from 2.5 to 5 hours, depending on the work involved

If you're someone who may have somewhere else to be, please do ask how long you're likely to be in the salon when you book, as we can't rush perfection. We'll always give you a clear idea of timings so you can plan your day.

And if you're with us for a longer appointment, please feel free to bring snacks or lunch along. You're more than welcome to eat in the salon and make yourself completely at home.

Cancellation policy

Your appointment is very important to us. It's reserved especially for you, and we completely understand that sometimes plans change. We respectfully ask for at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or rearrange.

When an appointment is cancelled without enough notice, we miss the opportunity to offer that time to another client, and those on our waiting list miss out too. Because your service is reserved personally for you, a cancellation fee will apply:

• Less than 24 hours' notice will result in a charge equal to 50% of the reserved service amount.

• No-shows will be charged 100% of the reserved service amount.

• For appointments booked within the 24-hour period, we ask that any cancellation is made within 4 hours of the appointment time, or a charge equal to 50% of the reserved service amount will apply.

• Multiple services not cancelled with 24 hours' notice will be charged 100% of the reserved service amount.

This policy allows us to offer availability to other clients and keep our schedule running smoothly, so we can look after everyone fairly. Thank you for understanding and supporting our team.
